On May 26, 2010, the New Jersey Racing Commission approved the request of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority to amend its 2010 thoroughbred and standardbred race schedule.

Monmouth Park will offer 50 million dollars in purses over an elite 50-day meeting, beginning May 22, racing on Friday through Sunday and holiday Mondays until Labor Day. Beginning September 11, Monmouth Park will then host the Meadowlands' thoroughbred 21-day meeting with racing on Saturday and Sunday, until November 21.
